Privacy (Products)

Last updated: December 1st, 2025

This Privacy Policy applies to all products (“Products”) published by Commuter Games.
By using our Products, you agree to the collection and use of data as described in this document.

This Privacy Policy may be updated as our Products evolve. Updates are effective immediately upon publication.

1. Data we collect

Our Products collect certain types of data only when required by product functionality (for example: online multiplayer, leaderboards, in-app purchases, platform services). Different Products may use different services and therefore may collect different data categories.

Commuter Games does not collect or store user data on its own servers. All data is collected and processed by trusted third-party service providers listed in Section 3. Not all Products use all the data categories or providers listed in this Policy. Each Product only uses the data and services required for its specific features. If a Product does not include a feature that requires a specific data category, that data category is not collected.

Depending on the specific Product and platform, the following categories of data may be collected:

1.1 Meta (Oculus) Platform Data

Collected when using Meta platform features such as authentication, avatars, friends list, entitlement checks, or leaderboards:

  • Meta User ID
  • Username (part of Horizon User Profile)
  • Avatar data (part of Horizon User Profile)
  • Friends list (if the Product includes social features and the user grants permission)
  • Invites sent or received through the platform
  • Blocked users (if relevant for social features)
  • Deep linking data
  • Entitlement validation (to confirm ownership of the Product)
  • In-app purchase status and downloadable content

We do not receive payment information, credit card data, or identity documents.

1.2 Multiplayer & Networking Data (Photon / Exit Games)

Collected in Products that include online multiplayer or networking:

  • Network identifiers
  • Region selection
  • IP address (for routing and matchmaking)
  • Session and connection logs

This data is required to operate real-time online multiplayer features.

1.3 Cloudflare (for content delivery and downloads)

If the Product downloads content or files using Cloudflare services, Cloudflare may collect:

  • Connecting IP address
  • Request and traffic logs
  • Device and connection metadata

This data is used solely for delivering content and protecting the service from abuse.

1.4 Gameplay Analytics & Progression Data (PlayFab)

For Products that use analytics or leaderboards via PlayFab, the following may be collected:

  • PlayFab-assigned user identifier (anonymous)
  • Gameplay events and performance metrics
  • In-game progression and statistics
  • Leaderboard scores
  • Device info (model, OS, region)
  • Crash reports

This data helps us understand how players use our Products so we can improve gameplay, performance, and stability.

2. Purpose of Data Collection

Data is collected only when required for specific features of a Product. Depending on the feature set of the Product, data may be used for:

  • User authentication and entitlement verification
  • Online multiplayer services
  • Leaderboards, matchmaking, and social features
  • In-app purchase validation
  • Gameplay analytics to improve performance, stability, and user experience
  • Crash diagnostics and error reporting
  • Content delivery and protection from abuse or fraud

Commuter Games cannot use the collected data to personally identify a user outside the platform ecosystem.

2.1 Local Device Storage

Some of our Products may store data locally on the user’s device.
This can include:

  • Saved game progress
  • User preferences and settings
  • Locally cached assets or downloads
  • Configuration files
  • Temporary data required for product functionality
  • In-app purchase receipts (platform-handled, for validation only)

This data is stored only on the user’s device and is not transmitted to Commuter Games unless required by a specific online feature (such as cloud syncing, leaderboards, entitlement validation, or multiplayer services provided by our third-party partners).

Users may delete this data by uninstalling the Product from their device.
Depending on the platform, some cached data may also be cleared in the platform settings.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

Our Products may rely on the following providers, depending on platform and features:

  • Meta Platforms, Inc. (Oculus / Meta Quest Platform)
  • Exit Games GmbH (Photon Realtime / Fusion / PUN)
  • Microsoft / PlayFab
  • Cloudflare, Inc.
  • Apple, Google, Meta, Pico or iQiyi (for platform-specific in-app purchases)
  • Unity Technologies (engine services and crash reports; not Unity Analytics)

Each provider processes and stores data according to its own Privacy Policy and compliance frameworks. Not every Product uses every provider; only the services required by the Product’s features are used.

4. Children’s Privacy

Our Products are not intended for users under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
If you believe your child has provided us data, please contact us at info [at] commuter.games.

5. Data Storage and Security

Commuter Games does not store user data on its own servers.
All data is stored and processed by the third-party providers listed above.

We use industry-standard networking practices and rely on the security systems of our partners, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

5.1 Data Security on the User’s Device

Local data stored by our Products may be encrypted, obfuscated, or otherwise protected to prevent human-readable access.
These protections are implemented to reduce the risk of unauthorized interpretation or manipulation of saved data.
However, no security method can guarantee absolute protection under all circumstances.

6. Data Access, Correction, and Deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time.
To make such a request, please email info [at] commuter.games with:

  • The name of the Product
  • The platform you’re using (e.g., Meta Quest, Pico, Steam)
  • Your platform user identifier (e.g., Meta User ID, PlayFab ID — if available).

We will assist you and forward the request to the relevant service providers when required.

Meta Quest users: You may also request data deletion directly through
Meta Account → Apps and Websites → Manage Data.

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will delete any data under our control and notify the appropriate third-party providers used by that Product (such as PlayFab, Photon, or others) so they can process the deletion on their end.
